Small Coin Collection

Description

So I was looking through my little lock box and found my tiny collection of coins. US coins, from top to bottom: Half Dollars, [one bicentennial], some Anthony $1 coins, Sacajawea dollars, an old nickle, and some regular old quarters [the one nearest the nickle is fully silver, and the others are bicentennials].

Foreign coins, from left to right: Canadian Loonie, India's Rupee, Republic of Panama balboa, 20¢ US Philippines Coin? [if anybody can tell me what it is, please say so!], Trinidad & Tobago 10¢ coin.

I have no clue if any of them [aside from the Loonie] are worth more than what they're stamped with, but this is all I got. :}

The U.S. ruled the Philippine Islands (after the Spanish-American War) from 1898-1946.  This included a four year war with the Filipinos (1899-1903) where they tried to throw us out and rule themselves.  It actually took longer than the Spanish-American War (the fighting there ended after three months).  We agreed to allow the Philippines to get their independence in 1946.  Ironically this period was to include a war against the Moros that ended in 1906, and (better known) the capture of the Philippines by the Japanese in World War II, and our retaking the islands (1941-1945).  While the U.S. was in control of the islands, we minted special coins for use there - the 20 centavo piece would have been the equivalent to $.20.  in American money.  We even minted dollar coins.  As for stamps, they were first American or Spanish stamps with the words "Philippines" on them, but later were just stamps for the islands.
